Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Health Research and Development (IJHRD) welcomes high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of health sciences, public health, epidemiology, nutrition, healthcare systems, environmental health, and sustainable health development. Authors are requested to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Types

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
  • Short Communications
  • Case Studies

2. Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English. Authors whose native language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally edited before submission.

3. Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 10 pt (main text)
  • Line spacing: Single spacing
  • Two-column format for the main manuscript
  • Page numbers should be included

4. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Author(s) and Affiliation(s)
  3. Abstract
  4. Keywords
  5. Introduction
  6. Related Works / Literature Review (if applicable)
  7. Materials and Methods
  8. Results and Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Acknowledgments (optional)
  11. Funding Statement
  12. Conflict of Interest
  13. Author Contributions
  14. Data Availability Statement
  15. References

5. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. The title should not exceed 20 words whenever possible.

6. Abstract

The abstract should be written in a single paragraph consisting of 200–250 words. It should briefly describe the background, objective, methods, results, and conclusion of the study. References, figures, tables, and unexplained abbreviations should not be included in the abstract.

7. Keywords

Authors should provide 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons (;). Keywords should represent the main concepts discussed in the manuscript.

8. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be cited in the text.
  • Table titles should be placed above the table.
  • Figure captions should be placed below the figure.
  • Figures should have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  • Tables should be editable and not inserted as images.

9. References

References must follow the APA 7th Edition citation style. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. At least 80% of references should be journal articles published within the last five years.

10. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants, patient data, or biological samples must obtain approval from an appropriate ethics committee. Ethical approval details must be stated in the manuscript.

11. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct will be rejected.

12. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system available on the journal website. Authors should ensure that all required metadata and files are provided during submission.

13. Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewer recommendations.

14. Publication Frequency

IJHRD is published three times annually in: March, July, and November.
